Since we got back from the UK and because I don't have school, the days seem to merge and I've totally lost track of time. I tend to get a little stir crazy when I have nothing to do. Chris will tell you that I'm not a nice lady to live with when I'm not going to school/working. I've been planning little trips out this week. Monday afternoon I went to see The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button which was good - not the greatest movie ever, but worth the £6 I paid. Does anyone think it's weird that I found a 85 year old Brad Pitt attractive? It seemed odd to me.
Tuesday Chris stayed home because he had a doctor's appointment. It was his first dealings with the US heath system. He's heard all the horror stories about how some people don't/can't get health insurance or how some places mistreat people. I found a great doctor at Kaiser in Livermore so I recommended him to Chris. Chris seemed to like him and had all his "issues" taken care of. Overall, he had a good experience. I, on the other had, am having some problems. I'm not sure if you guys know, but I have hypothyroidism. It usually means that you have a low level of thyroid hormone. In my case, I was born without a thyroid and have been treated for the disorder my entire life. I usually get a check up every 6 months and my most recent check up was last month. Well, I had some blood work done and it turns out that my liver function is a little high. Apparently it was high the last time I was checked up here (3 years ago). The doctor has requested that I get some more specific tests done and get my liver checked via ultrasound. I'm a little worried about what is going on. The ultrasound appointment is next week and I'll fill you guys in when I hear back about it.
On Wednesday, I drove to San Jose for my little cousin Hailey's 6th birthday party. We went to the Olive Garden and I had my favorite dinner - lasagna. Yummy! With every meal, you get free salad and bread sticks. They have the best salad there and if you ever come visit, you have to go to the Olive Garden? OMG ! It is fantastic! Chris got paid today and I attempted to spend his entire paycheck. We moved into our apartment in October, yet I'm still missing so many things - especially for the kitchen. Chris has a half day tomorrow because Monday is a holiday here (Martin Luther King Jr's birthday). It was so funny because he doesn't know the American holidays yet and was so happy when he found out Monday was a holiday. It was cute! We're trying to figure out what we're doing at the weekend. It's my grandmother's birthday on Saturday, so I'm sure we'll be in San Jose at some point. The rest of the weekend is free. I would love to do something besides sit on our butts like every other weekend. I'm trying to get Chris to take me to the cinema this weekend, but he doesn't believe in paying to see movies. Can we say illegal download?
Anyways, I hope all of you are liking the blog. It's a great way to find out what everyone is doing. Everyone that has signed up is now an administrator which means that you can change the format or background whenever you want. You can also invite people to join. Have a look at the layout and mess around with it a bit. It's fun.
Miss you guys loads!
